Dear Members,
A beginning, it is said, is only the start of a journey to another beginning.
I feel privileged and honored to take up my new role as the Chairman of the Bahrain Chapter of the ICAI.
I sincerely thank the fellow members for reposing faith in me and to lead the Chapter with renewed vigor. It is indeed a matter of great pride to serve as the Chairman of the Bahrain Chapter of the ICAI, the largest single body of professionals in the Kingdom of Bahrain. However, when I look back and see the distinguished history of the past Chairmen, who have served this chapter with distinction, especially immediate past chairman Mr. Balasubramanyan, particularly conducting the first GCC conference, CPT test and an initiative to start the ICAI branch office at Bahrain, I feel humbled. I promise that I will work with my best capacity to take forward to the initiatives taken by the outgoing committee.
I also thank the Government of Bahrain, Bahrain Accountant Association, HE Dr. George Joseph, Indian Ambassador, and the Embassy of India in Bahrain.
My new responsibility is both an opportunity as well as a challenge. We have built significant momentum as an organization and going into 2010 we required a strong strategic plan and initiatives. With the strong foundation that has been made already, I believe our slogan for the year 2010 should be “Connect, Communicate, Collaborate” | | | “Connect” | | | • We are in process of arranging exclusive campus placement for Bahrain, IT training and XBRL extended business reporting language. • Connect with GCC chapters and develop pool of quality speakers, exchange concepts: In line with the vision, I will be representing Bahrain Chapter in International Conference on 5th & 6th November, 2009 organized by the Abu Dhabhi chapter. • Connect with Bahrain’s Vision 2030.
